In April 2007 I had a laparoscopy which revealed stage 3 endo – on the outside of my ovaries and all over my bladder which resulted in it being ‘glued’ to my uterus. The endo was removed. I’d like to know what the chances are that it has returned as I never really had, to me that is, any obvious symptoms of Endo as I’d always had painful periods and often discomfort during sex – symptoms which I currently have. On what grounds does an FS decide to do a lap to check for endo, and what are the chances that my endo has returned?
Wednesday, January 14th, 2009The likelihood of stage 3 endometriosis returning is approximately 75% over a 5 year period. ( Probably sooner the worse the disease) Whether or not to repeat surgery is usually based upon a high index of suspicion, previous history and symptoms.
